    3. All of these topics have in common: a human life that we believe is important and choice...
  3. Gift vs Rights
    1. Our country has literally been founded on the idea of Rights.
      1. In the title of our first 10 amendments(Bill of Rights)
      2. Second Paragraph of Declaration is all about it
    2. What is a right:
      1. a moral or legal entitlement - to have or obtain something or to act in a certain way.
      2. A right is something that we take ownership of. We own it. It's mine and your not allowed to take it away.
        1. Ever hear a little kid say that?
    3. But what does the bible and God actually teach us
      1. God is the giver of life
      2. God is the giver of freedom
      3. God is the giver of happiness(property)
    4. Our view on that last one has changed over the years.
      1. Used to mean property(private property) because to be able to secure property was hugely important and is invasive to not be able to
      2. Now we have moved into a time when it means that we have the right to be happy, to be comfortable, to be have pleasure, to not have pain
    5. If we were to change the declaration to the words Gifts and Responsibility, it changes the meaning.
      1. It requires something of us. That we take care of these responsibilities. Not the rights themselves but the product of those rights.
        1. We have to take care of our freedom
        2. Care for our life
        3. Care for our property, happiness
      2. And care doesn't mean protect. It means to be caretakers because in the end we are giving it back to God. Our life, our freedom, our happiness.
    6. We have been taught to separate government and religion and its because the government is an institution for all peoples and religion isn't
      1. BUT, there is nothing wrong with combining government and faith.
        1. the government is governed by things that we have defined as moral and immoral and they are based on a faith background
  4. Video to end: _____________________
