Win: for the youth to understand the beauty behind the Sacrament of Baptism as well as understand what it means to call God Father.

 

Pre-Gather 6:00 - 6:15pm in Student Center and Hallway

Key Steps:

  1. Setup NameTags
  2. Get bibles boxes to small group spaces
  3. Pray with team
  4. Split up snacks and drinks in small group spaces
  5. Music in Student Center
  6. Setup activity as they enter:  Diaper poop guessing game(diapers have melted candy in them. Have to guess which 

 

Gather 6:15-7:10(Student Center)

Key Steps

  1. 2 people at doors to greet
  2. Diaper poop guessing game
  3. Get to know you large group
    1. Do you like being on the water? Why or why not?
    2. If you could be a priest, prophet, or king(queen) what would you choose and why?
  4. Video:Sacrament Video 
  5. Scavenger Hunt
    1. Mission: Groups will need to run around the church looking for symbols of sacraments and baptism. Split the groups as much as possible

 

Proclaim 7:10-7:25(Student Center)

    1. The What:
      1. Each symbol and sign in the celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism has a deep and profound meaning, helping us to discover the deeper realities of the sacrament.
        1.  Do you remember anything from your Baptism or have you seen a video of it? What stood out to you? If not, have you ever witnessed a Baptism? What do you remember about it?
          1. Altar, garment, crucifix, candles, holy water, Sacred Chrism, basket/bowl for the Send

      1. God bound salvation to Baptism; however, God can work outside of the Sacrament of Baptism.
      2. Through Baptism we receive freedom from sin, become an adopted child of God, are called to serve the Church, and are given the mission to help make disciples for Jesus Christ.

    2. Matthew: 13-17: Make sure everyone opens up their bible and reads along. One of our goals is to help them know their bible.
