With the help of Sirius-XM satellite radio, I have been listening to the Beatle Channel. Yes, I am a product of the 1960’s, and I have been a Beatle fan for years.

One of the things I’ve come to appreciate is the art of lyric writing. As for the music, I know what I like but can’t really analyze it. But listening to the words has been insightful.

Creating lyrics that carry meaning and emotion with so few words is an art. Often the songs have a phrase that sums up the entire song. Sometimes the words are melodic in themselves. Without fail, the lyrics create an image.

I like to write, but I don’t think I could write songs as the fab four did. Who can? But I can take inspiration from them to create images that will stay with others, painting pictures that help enrich people’s lives.

Words have tremendous power and lives of their own.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
