Understanding the Mass

For many Catholics, the Mass might, in some sense, be almost too familiar.  We show up on Sundays and perform the prayers and rituals that we have known since childhood. Does it feel like you are just going through the motions?  Do you ever wonder what the words and rituals mean? For example: Why we respond, “And with your spirit?” Or why does the priest wash his hands prior to the Eucharistic prayer? This study will take you deeper into the beauty of the Mass. We will examine each part of the Mass and unpack the meaning of the words, the prayers and the rituals plus learn how each are rooted in the scripture.

The celebration of the Mass will never be the same after participating in this 4-session study!  

1:00-2:15 p.m. Wednesdays, September 27, October 11, 18, 25. The fee is $15 for the book, A Biblical Walk Through The Mass, by Edward Sri.  Sr. Anne Mary will facilitate the study and provide the book.

We are headed back to our JHM Bootcamp this year. 

CYSC is our new home and it is going to be awesome experience. They have an intense high ropes and climbing wall

We will be gathering at noon on Saturday and carpooling down.

12:00 – Meet at St John 23(pizza at church)
2:30p - Arrive @ CYSC
1:45p - Small Group Activity
3p – High Ropes/Low Ropes
6p – Dinner
7p – Session 1
8p - Mass
10p – Bed
8a – Breakfast
10a – Zipline/Low Ropes
Noon – Depart
2:30 – Arrive at St. John 23

Packing List:
-    Long pants/shirts for evening activities
-    Sleepwear: appropriate shorts and shirts
-    Bedding(sleeping bag, sheets, pillow). We will be on blue foam mattresses
-    Toiletries & towel: possible a great time to teach about deodorant?
-    Bug spray, flashlight, sunscreen
-    Change of clothes in case of messiness
-    Active clothes for High Ropes Sunday morning(thicker shorts are better)
-    Snacks to share
