Pastoral Council

WHAT IS A PASTORAL COUNCIL?

The Pastoral Council of a parish is an advisory body made up of parishioners representing the parish community to assist the pastor in living out the mission/vision of the parish, in addition to identifying needs in the community and how those could be met. It also acts as a "sounding board" for the pastor to consult on various items as they arise. This group of active parishioners has a perspective that is different from the parish staff, and so can help round out what needs attention, as well as the decision-making process.

Pastoral Council members not only have the ability to use their gifts and ideas to help the parish as a whole, they also end up appreciating the opportunity to learn more about the life of the parish and to grow in community with fellow council members. The Pastoral Council at St. John XXIII consists of twelve members who have staggered three-year terms.

Current pastoral council members are:

Bonnie Ash (chair), Deb Boyce, Maryann Fishbaugh, Joe Froelich, Rachel Geckle, Dave Jagodzinski, Heidi Koedem, Jeff Martin, Fadi Nahhas, Melissa Owens, Mark Siracusa, Rick Thielen
